Research shows ESG and class actions to dominate litigation landscape
New research predicts ESG disputes and class actions will dominate the next decade of litigation. Here's the evidence.
Research last week by Byfield Consultancy showed that environmental, social and governance (ESG) disputes and class actions will be the focus for disputes lawyers over the next few years.
Over 50 respondents including; general counsel, litigation funders, law firm partners, QCs and PR advisors across multiple jurisdictions were interviewed and completed a questionnaire.
The report also looked at the impact of litigation PR on disputes. Byfield's Managing Director, Gus Sellitto, commented that: "With the rise of group-actions, alongside increased media interest in disputes, the need for litigation PR has never been clearer."
“Almost a third (30 per cent) of respondents citing ESG litigation as a likely dominator. This was followed by collective actions, cited by 14 per cent of respondents.”
