About FinLegal

The scale for thousands of similar matters, and the power of AI for the complex ones.

Since 2020 we've solved the hardest technical challenges for firms running mass and class claims — group litigation, mass tort, arbitration, and high-volume claims work. We went deep on their operational pain and built the software that removed it. Today, our AI is revolutionising how those firms work.

Our story

How FinLegal got here.

  1. № 01

Built for mass & class claims

FinLegal began as the operational platform behind some of the largest group litigation, mass tort and mass arbitration programmes in the UK, US and Europe. Client portals, automated comms, case management, AI document review — purpose-built to handle tens of thousands of claimants with lean teams. Over 10 million claimants have been onboarded and managed through FinLegal to date.

  2. № 02

    The same bottleneck, every time

Across thousands of matters — mass tort in the US, GLOs in the UK, consumer arbitration in Europe — one problem kept appearing: medical records. Thousands of pages per claimant, paralegal time burned on sorting and summarising, hundreds of pounds per case paid to outsourced reviewers. Medical record review was the single most expensive, slowest, most error-prone step in personal injury and clinical negligence work.

  3. № 03

So we built AI for claims work

We invested in document AI purpose-built for the way claims actually work. It processes mass volumes of evidence, reasons over the content to qualify claimants against case-specific criteria, and generates the paperwork firms would otherwise draft by hand. For medical records specifically, we went deeper still — producing structured medical summaries, indexed and paginated records and chronologies with confidence scores on every extraction. The cost fell from hundreds of pounds per case to as little as £25. The turnaround fell from days to under an hour.

  4. № 04

Made self-serve — for every firm

Our enterprise customers had been using the AI as part of their Claims Automation deployment. But we knew the pain wasn't only felt by firms doing mass torts — it was felt by every PI and clinical negligence practice. So we made the medical AI self-serve, pay-per-use, with no subscription and a £3,000 free credit on sign-up. Now any firm — and any medical expert — can get the same AI and the same expert network in a few minutes.

Why it matters

The cost and pain we're removing.

Personal injury, clinical negligence and mass & class claims all depend on handling huge amounts of evidence and thousands of clients quickly and accurately. Done badly, that means lost cases and runaway costs.

For PI & clinical negligence

£200–£800 per case

Typical outsourced pagination, indexing and medical summarisation cost per matter — and the fee comes straight off the margin.

3 weeks – 3 months turnaround

Standard turnaround for a paginated bundle with chronology. In that time, limitation slips, opposing counsel moves, and client trust erodes.

Limited transparency

Outsourced review typically hands back a PDF and a bill — without classification confidence scores or a structured audit trail to interrogate later.

For mass & class claims

Tens of thousands of claimants

Group actions and mass torts mean onboarding, qualifying and keeping in touch with cohorts that are too large for any team to handle by hand — intake bottlenecks, drop-off, and missed eligibility.

Mountains of disclosure

Hundreds of thousands of documents per matter — contracts, statements, V5Cs, correspondence — that need classifying, extracting and auditing across the entire cohort, not just one claimant at a time.

Comms and settlement at scale

Updates, reminders, settlement offers, final notices — templated, merged, tracked and disbursed across the whole cohort. Manual comms collapse the moment the claimant count enters four figures.

What we believe

Principles that shape the product.

Everyone deserves the same AI

A solo PI solicitor and a top-20 mass tort firm should have access to the same quality of medical AI. Pricing shouldn't gatekeep technology.

Transparency over black boxes

Every AI decision comes with a confidence score. Humans decide when AI output can be trusted — and we make that decision easy.

Speed without compromise

Under an hour isn't a stretch goal, it's the baseline. Slow turnaround loses cases. We engineer for speed without sacrificing accuracy.
