English firms must embrace technology to retain class action crown in Europe

Post-Brexit, English firms face genuine competition for European class action work. Technology is the differentiator.

FinLegal CEO, Steve Shinn was quoted in Global Legal Post yesterday regarding the ‘wave’ of European class actions on the horizon.

The piece is a response from claimant firms and funders who have come out fighting against claims that they are behind the rise in European group actions.

Steve adds that progress on UK group actions has "helped to differentiate the market and assisted London in maintaining its role as a leading litigation hub".

But he warns that competitive pressures rising from Germany and the Netherlands meant that "UK firms must embrace technology now to keep ahead of those jurisdictions biting at their ankles and keen to take on the litigation crown.”
